Cardiology

At Laurel Pet Hospital, we work alongside board-certified veterinary cardiologists. Our team will schedule a cardiology-specific appointment to assess your pet and answer any questions you may have.

Cardiology is focused on the diagnosis and management of heart diseases. With all of their diagnostic and advanced surgical equipment under one roof (ECG, echocardiogram, Holter monitor, telemetry, fluoroscopy, pacemakers), our cardiologists can diagnose, treat, and perform surgery all under one roof, if needed!

Echocardiograms use sound waves through tissues to develop a high-definition picture. This image allows us to see blood flow, as well as the structure and function of the heart. Our up-to-date ultrasound.

We also have the ability to monitor your pet’s heart 24 hours a day while in the hospital and even at home through telemetry. We are able to achieve this by sending your pet home with a jacket called a Holter monitor that monitors your pet’s heart rate and rhythm while outside the hospital. We can then interpret the results the next day.
